Sweet N Sour Shrimp
Ingredients
- 1 Green Bell Pepper Cubed
- 1 Spanish Onion Cubed
- 1/3 cup pineapple chunks
- 1 TBSP Sesame Seed Oil
- ½ Lb. Peeled and Deveined Gulf Brown Shrimp
Directions
In a hot wok or skillet heat sesame seed oil and add vegetables. Stir fry for about one minute and add shrimp and pineapple. Continue to stir fry until shrimp turns opaque. Pour Sauce over shrimp mixture and heat through for one minute. Serve with fresh steamed rice.
Sweet N Sour Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1/3 cup passionfruit juice
- 1/3 cup pineapple juice
- 1/3 cup rice vinegar
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
Directions
- In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water. Set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, combine fruit juices, rice vinegar, brown sugar, ketchup, and soy sauce and bring to a boil over medium heat. Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened, about 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and use immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
